Birth Doula

As a birthing support Doula I will provide physical, emotional and informational support to pregnant mothers before, during and after childbirth. My role does not include medical assistance but guidance to ensure a positive and empowering birthing experience for mom and family.  

Services: 

Emotional Support: I will provide reassurance, encouragement, and a calming presence during labor and birth. I will create a supportive environment and offer comfort measures such as breathing techniques, relaxation methods and visualization. 

Informational Support: I will provide evidence-based information about the birthing process, options for pain relief, medical interventions and more. I help the expectant parent understand their choices and make informed decisions. 

Advocacy: I will help the mom communicate her preferences to the medical staff. I will advocate the mom's birth plan and work to ensure that their desires are respected to the extent possible within the medical context. 

Physical Support: I will use comfort measures such as massage, positioning suggestions, and techniques to alleviate pain and promote relaxation during labor. 

Continuous Presence: I will be present throughout the labor and birth offering unwavering support and reassurance. 

Lactation Support: (If the mom chooses this route). I will offer prenatal and intrapartum support that encourages breastfeeding initiation in the hospital. 

Collaboration with Health care Providers: I work in collaboration with healthcare providers, such as midwives, obstetricians, to ensure an holistic approach to maternity care.
